Poor Man’s Productions is an award-winning motion picture and television production company producing high-quality, culturally diverse, story-driven films for global audiences.
Founded in 2003 by Writer/Director Richie Mehta and Producer/Post Supervisor Steven N. Bray, Poor Man's Productions specializes in international production and post production for projects of all genres and sizes.
Our feature films "Amal" and "Siddharth" have won more than 50 major festival awards and received critical praise the world over. The Netflix Series "Delhi Crime" is one of the most successful Netflix Indian series of all time, winning the top International Emmy Award in 2020 for "Best Drama Series". We managed all the post production on the six-episode Netflix mini-series "Thai Cave Rescue", which was a massive undertaking during the Covid pandemic, utilizing teams all over the world to bring this ambitious story to life. Our latest project "Poacher" was filmed in Kerela and Delhi, posted in Canada, and is set for release on February 2024 globally on Amazon Prime Video.
We specialize in international co-productions, handling all aspects of Film and TV production, with a particular expertise in multiple language productions. We are a member of the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) and the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) and have access to other unions and guilds (IATSE, WGC), which allows us access to the best production and post talent in Canada. We have helped international productions save millions of dollars by navigating each through the Canadian post production process, carefully crafting a unique post plan, budget and schedule that maximizes returns both financially and creatively. Every project is unique so we approach each with careful planning, to maximize the value and ease of the post experience.
With offices and crew in Toronto, London, and Mumbai, we have the team and experience to carry a story all the way from concept to completion. |
